About the Role
Join our Kitchen Team in an award-winning BBQ restaurant, prepare exceptional food, support a passionate team and help deliver Oxford's best smokehouse experience.
Contract: Full - time, Permanent
Guaranteed Hours : 35 hours per week.
Additional Hours: Additional hours up to approximately 45 hours per week. Depending on the needs of the business .
Working Pattern: Including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required by the needs of the business.
Pay: NMW/NLW + Service Charge
* Guaranteed Basic Pay: The applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for your age, plus a share of the restaurant's service charge. Service charge is paid in addition to your basic pay and will vary depending on the amount collected and the Company's service charge distribution arrangements.
Requirements
As a Kitchen Team Member, you'll play an important role in delivering the exceptional food that Burnout BBQ is known for. Working alongside the Head Chef, Sous Chef and
wider kitchen team, you'll help prepare, cook and present food to the highest standards while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient kitchen environment. From preparing fresh ingredients and supporting food service to maintaining hygiene standards and assisting with deliveries, you'll help ensure every guest enjoys the quality, consistency and authentic BBQ experience that defines Burnout BBQ.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Kitchen Operations
● Prepare ingredients in accordance with Burnout BBQ recipes and specifications.
● Support chefs with food preparation, cooking and service during busy periods.
● Ensure food is prepared efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.
● Follow recipe specifications and portion control standards at all times.
● Assist with opening and closing procedures within the kitchen.
● Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
Teamwork & Daily Operations
● Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen.
● Receive, check and correctly store deliveries.
● Rotate stock using company procedures and date coding requirements.
● Report low stock levels, maintenance issues or equipment faults promptly.
● Assist colleagues across the kitchen whenever required to support efficient service.
Standards & Presentation
● Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
● Keep all kitchen workstations clean, organised and ready for service.
● Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment as required.
● Empty bins and manage waste disposal in accordance with company procedures.
● Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment.
● Wear the Burnout BBQ uniform correctly and maintain excellent personal presentation.
Food Safety, Health & Safety & Compliance
● Follow all Food Safety, HACCP and Health & Safety procedures.
● Ensure allergen information and food handling procedures are followed at all times.
● Maintain correct food labelling, date coding and safe food storage procedures.
● Follow cleaning schedules and maintain excellent kitchen hygiene standards.
● Report hazards, accidents and maintenance issues promptly.
● Work safely and responsibly at all times in accordance with company policies.
