About the Role

Join our Bar Team in an award-winning BBQ restaurant, craft exceptional drinks, deliver outstanding hospitality and help create Oxford's best smokehouse experience.

Guaranteed Hours : 20 hours per week.

Additional Hours: Additional hours up to approximately 30 hours per week. Depending on the needs of the business .

Working Pattern: Including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required by the needs of the business.

Pay: NMW/NLW + Service Charge

* Guaranteed Basic Pay: The applicable National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage rate for your age, plus a share of the restaurant's service charge. Service charge is paid in addition to your basic pay and will vary depending on the amount collected and the Company's service charge distribution arrangements.

Requirements

As a Bartender, you'll play an important role in creating memorable experiences for every guest who visits Burnout BBQ. You'll be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality drinks, maintaining an organised and welcoming bar environment, and delivering the friendly, engaging hospitality that defines the Burnout BBQ Family Ethos. Working closely with the Bar Manager, Front of House team and Kitchen team, you'll help

ensure the bar operates efficiently, safely and to the highest standards. Whether you're crafting cocktails, serving guests, maintaining stock levels or preparing the bar for service, you'll contribute to delivering an outstanding guest experience every time.


Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Bar Service

● Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to company standards.

● Prepare cocktails and speciality drinks in accordance with approved recipes.

● Deliver friendly, professional and engaging customer service at all times.

● Welcome guests at the bar, take drink orders accurately and process payments efficiently.

● Make recommendations and confidently explain the drinks menu, promoting specials and upselling where appropriate.

● Ensure drinks are prepared, presented and served consistently to the highest standards.

● Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining excellent quality and service.


Teamwork & Daily Operations

● Work collaboratively with the Bar Manager, Front of House and Kitchen teams to deliver a seamless guest experience.

● Assist with opening and closing procedures for the bar.

● Prepare garnishes, mixers and other ingredients ready for service.

● Replenish stock, glassware, ice and bar supplies throughout each shift.

● Report low stock levels, maintenance issues and equipment faults promptly to the Bar Manager.

● Support the wider restaurant team whenever required.


Standards & Presentation

● Keep the bar area clean, fully stocked and well presented at all times.

● Collect used glasses promptly and ensure they are cleaned and returned to service.

● Clean bar equipment, workstations, seating areas and tables throughout the day.

● Follow company standards for drink preparation, portion control and presentation.

● Wear the Burnout BBQ uniform correctly and maintain excellent presentation.

● Help create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the Burnout BBQ brand.


Health, Safety & Compliance

● Follow all Health & Safety, food hygiene and company procedures.

● Comply with all alcohol licensing legislation and operate in accordance with the Challenge 25 policy.

● Check identification where appropriate before serving alcohol.

● Maintain safe working practices behind the bar.

● Handle cash and card transactions accurately.

● Report accidents, hazards and maintenance issues promptly.


What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

● Has previous experience working behind a bar or in hospitality (preferred but not essential).

● Has a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences.

● Enjoys preparing drinks and working in a fast-paced environment.

● Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team.

● Is organised, reliable and able to remain calm under pressure.

● Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

● Has a willingness to learn new drinks, cocktails and product knowledge.

● Understands the importance of responsible alcohol service and licensing requirements.
